-Recent Changes-
Last updated October 4, 2004.

We are moving to a new host! The troop committee has approved a motion to transfer the troop website to a new server that will provide more services than that of the current one. We are currently awaiting activation of the new account. Also, the Troop website will have its own Domain Name. The new domain will be www.t212.org. Those scouts who are interested in helping out with management of the troop site may contact me at KennethJR@hotpop.com. Applicants will have to have some knowledge of HTML at a minimum.

The banners are back! This is because I have downgraded the site until we have completed the transfer to the new web host. This will be temporary and after the transfer is complete, I will be closing this account.

The Olympic hike to the Enchanted Valley was a great success. Thanks to all who made the outing possible!

The scouts had a great time at the 1st Washington Jamboree! Kudos to the Dewhirsts for a great performance. The scouts enjoyed several activities from identifying orienteering symbols to rock climbing!

Several outings are coming up in the near future, so plan ahead using the troop calendar! First up is the Wilderness Survival outing on October 23nd - 24th. Scouts will be building shelters to stay in overnight. Next is the Leadership Training outing on November 5th - 7th. Be aware that this date is tentative and may change. On the weekend following the Leadership outing, November 12th - 14th, is the Black Powder and Rifle Shooting overnight. Hope to see you there for some great activities and enjoyable comradeship.

Also, I have added a past outings page so that you can view several of the photos from Past Outings! Unfortunately, I do not have all the outing pictures formatted yet for the web, but I will be adding to that page and will notify when it has been updated.

Troop 212 in 2004!

Thing to remember when doing the Paper Box:

  1. Chuck Perry is the person to call when the recycle bin is full.
  2. There is a garbage bin for Covenant Church, and the troop can put any garbage in the bin if they need to dispose of whatever is left at the Thriftway shed other than the newsprint and sale circular papers.

Please take the time to view the paper box information page for procedures on the paper box. This can save you time and add more money to the troop if it is done right. Thank you!

December's 2003 Submarine & Museum adventure

The scouts took a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry on December 6 & 7, 2003. They toured the museum and then spent the night on the Blueback, an American attack submarine. The Blueback is the submarine shown in The Hunt for the Red October film as the Dallas. In keeping with this theme, I have created a Flash slide show presentation which features some of the original soundtrack of the film by Basil Poledouris.
